Engine loss midflight

Hello Highguard,

my zoner whale, [T]Sysiphus, all of a sudden had its engine unmounted in open space roughly 25 k from Romorantin in Orleanais, now I cannot control it, the ship is drifting in space towards the Cassiopeia Sector and the crew is desperate ))

At the present speed it will reach the LXP 48N system in 767 345 years But that only contains immobilized nomad Marduk ships and dormant jumpgates anyways.

Can you please beam it to Romorantin Space port in Orleanais please?

Thanks a lot, however my othe ships started behaving badly, crahing out from the server in flight and whe I get back their engines are unmounted in the middle of space and my own POB is lost from their radar lists. Ships are:

[T]Equo and [T]Windwyrm. First is a zoner id whale and the other is a neutral old whale from older times.

Do I have saboteurs on board?

I just checked Sysiphus, I can finally steer it but it also lost my POB from its radar list. Strange. Engine is unmounted but it still flies. Even stranger.

Then this must be some systematic error.

Today I flew briefly with a neutral rep and id zoner whale, [T]Windwyrm.

My engine was unmounted but could fly. I landed and bought a Gallic freighter engine. In the middle of the flight I got disconnected from the server and after 6-7 tries I could log on, the ship was floating in space and the gallic engine just disappeared from the inventory as if never existed.

How this is connected to the fact that ALL my ships lost my own zillion times visited POB from their radar list is also a mystery...

I'll have to wait and see whether there is a correctable reason for this - I vaguely remember that this happened before to others and was somehow connected to POBs but cant remember exactly how.

OK some more information on the good side:

I also have a Serenity, [T]Lynesse, that also had its engine dismounted when I logged it on, parked at my POB in Orleanais.

Now, after mounting the engine it worked fine, did not disconnect, and "remembered" in the radar list the POB.

I wonder whether all these problems are limited to zoner IDs and zoner whales and POBs somehow.

Sorry for all these detailed posts, Highguard, I thought the details might hekp sorting this out.

I know why I suddenly love my Serenity: with engine mounted it goes at 200, 260 with thrusters on and 450 at cruise speed - it is definitely an engine problem then.

There was something similar back when the unique engine update was implemented by the GC server last year.

Fixed to here.

There have been changes to the files with the new mod. I'm using a new version of the DS account manager running on the old settings: automatically fix player files, check for default engine, check for default power plant. It seems like it was checking for the old settings and killing the Power and engines of those who didn't match. Meaning zoner whales and Gallic 5k's.

I unchecked the boxes for power and engines. That shouold do it. Just keep posting here until I get the others fixed.

I got same problems here with my 5K Zoner transporters and on a "Serenity" today.

[T]Lotus_6: in Colorado - please put him back to Pueblo.
[T]Lotus_8: in Dublin - please put him back to Gold Ore Station
Samara: in Edinburgh - please put him back to Gold Ore Station

Transporter engines are also unmounted on bases before start.
This occurs also on my "Serenity" transp.

Fixed.

The engines are still there, people are just undocking without checking them. Until we figure out what is going on you have to check your engine and mount it BEFORE you undock. I'm still waiting for a response from GC so you need to check every time you dock, before you undock or spend a lot of time waiting for me to log in.

I have to say in my case the problem is the opposite.

When I undock with engines unmounted everything is ok.

When I mount the engines I go way over the speed limit at 450 cruise for about 40k then the server kicks me - no cheating message though - then when I log back in I am floating in space not able to move with engine unmounted.

So can you please beam [T]Lynesse, the serenity to Romorantin Space Port please?

Done. I edited files last night so this problem should be fixed. I just need to edit those chars that are still without engines and they should stick this time.

This is the scenario I am experiencing:

1. Engine isn't initially mounted, so i mount it. Launch, after about 30 sec., crash, I come back on and the engine is unmounted and the ship won't move, restart server, then engine is unmounted but ship flies.

I have tested a variety of my ships and they all go through that scenario. Let me know how you want to handle it. It's no rush if your hands are full.

Lomar had an engine and then a second in cargo. I moved the ship to BS hood for you to make sure it is mounted. Lotus 8 has an engine already, you just need to mount it. Moved to hood as well

I put thru a fix suggested by GC but need time to test it. Unfortunately, it does nothing for the ships unmounted, so keep mounting them until we run thru the list.

When you guys tell me you are crashing in space, what I'm seeing is a mounted engine and a second in cargo. The extra cargo could be what is making the crashes in space. It also seems to happen to ships that log out on a POB.

Keep telling me about the fixes, I'm looking at the server 10-20 times a day.

Lomar had an engine and then a second in  cargo. I moved the ship to BS hood for you to make sure it is mounted. Lotus 8 has an engine already, you just need to mount it. Moved to hood as well

could you please fix [P]Poseidon_03 i did install engine but when i got to freeport 6 it would not let me dock and is now sitting outside with engine unmounted.
